A minor suggestion in this epic rage thread:
I've noticed somewhere that CCP needs to remake their minimum and recommended requirements for the clients.
Considering my cheap arse budget, my hobby : eve-online laid the line straigth. Upgrade your rigs.
I guess I need to choose to either quit or find the cash to do this. Rigthy then I'll go with the find some cash option then.
Can I get a bit of help then? Here's what I need to shut up and focus on the game:
I need new equipment, but I have little to no expertice to find what I need please provide, and here's what I quickly imagine:
Some trustworthy iron provider assemble eve rigs. Minimum requirement rigs, cheapish 500 Ç desktops and equal laptop.
These rigs I would then expect to run the client comfortable for 2 years (we're talking dedicated rigs, they'll be for eve and nothing else).
High performance rigs : I'm thinking a rig that runs the client in prestine conditions for say 2 years, and then it'll basicly become the minimum requirement rig.
You have dealings with Nvidia, I see IBM (Lenovo), why not push them, and say sell them via here or something.
The concept would fall well inhand with the free upgrade concept you run... Hell I'd even find cash, and pay CCP a gaming rig subscribtion fee if you'd take care of this (thinking I'd get shipped a new rig every 2 years, and simply send some money your way same way I do with subscribtions.) Hell sell it via the Eve-store.
I know there migth be some localization problems in the OS front, but which iron dealer ship still has that problem unfixable????
Please help me here, I'll find some money, I'll pay upfront, please please. Don't go taking away my eve again as you're in the proccess of... I need it. Not much, I can quit anytime I want to, but please can I have some more please..
That option would have helped me a lot. I'm currently down to a Lenovo T60 with a ATI graphic card of sorts, I'll test to client tonigth and see if I can even load it. The new toon system on it is frankly unavailable, I spend some 4-5 hours raging over tryingg to recreate my toon, and the iron fails me. It's old sure, but it has loaded the client before.
I also as a response to that just gotten a Dell Optiplex 780 SSF with 6 gigs of ram and super fast HD, that has failed the toon creation too. My proposed fix for that would then be getting a graphic card in it, which will be hard Small form factor means small room, but I see an ATI 1gb card for some 200Ç, oh god, well I need it. And I'll be looking to upgrade the OS for 64 bits to use the 3+ gb's of ram, this migth fix things for now. But I can't do that every year.
Following your fanfest pressentation with Nvidia I feel 18-24 months from now I need to replace my rig, by then I'd really like help to buy prober iron, like getting a Nvidia card. I never liked ATI, but it's what's shipping..

I've been here for too long to quit. The game core is too good to find a replacement. But still I'm spending less less time ingame, and more playing offline games, currently C&C classic old fun and I have piles to go through.
What I find most distressing is that I haven't logged into EVE for the past 7 days as I've actually taken a tour in WoW. And I kinda like it at the moment, please save me from this. Please, I just need to load the game, I fit need the ingame windows, overview and local, I'll be just fine from there ;)
Buttomline: I'd really like to see a Eve-Online minimum requirement rig for 1-click sale, plus the recommended version, and why not add the just bring it version.
I can't read, understand and use the requirement text anyway.
